Wild Mountain review
The Wild Mountain Smokehouse and Brewery in Nederland, Colorado is a recent and welcomed addition to the brewpub family of Boulder County. I visited the other day after mountain biking nearby.
The dry-hopped(?) pale (6.6%) and amber (5.5%) were both more dry and more bitter than the grapefruit-bomb IPA. The cherry wheat was a mild (non-Bavarian) wheat with just a hint of aftertaste of cherry syrup. The smoked beer (porter?) was a sweet brown with just a bit of smokiness and too much carbonation. All beers were served too cold, and all tasted quite similar with minor differences (even when warmed). No infections or off-flavors, just nothing distinguished. The 5 sampler tray, while presented in a fun way (the "brew-ski"), cost a surprising $5.95. The pork sandwich was very good, again mild in its smokiness, and despite the orange color and thick sweetness of the "Carolina" sauce. Nice deck with a small outdoor bar; less seating available than it looks from the outside. I'll certainly return for the food and to let the beer make a better impression.
Easy to find on 1st street just across from the park-n-ride. Catch the bus from Boulder.

Thanks for the review John! I hope other members will contribute more too...
You can inline those images... if you edit your post, under the file attachments you should be able to see the full URL for the images. You can use this and insert them inline with HTML, or using the MediaWiki input format it would be like this:
[[image:http://www.hopbarley.org/files/yourImageName.jpg]]
You can also uncheck the list box under file attachments and it won't show the list of files.
You can choose the input format in the edit screen. Check out my test blog image here: http://www.hopbarley.org/blog/mike/test_blog
Let me know if it doesn't work out...
2nd visit
My second visit, this time with the Alers FFO, made more of an impression beer-wise. I had a full pint of each the pale, IPA, and amber so had plenty of opportunity to taste them. The IPA was still grapefruit and the pale still the most interesting. The malt complexity of the amber came out a bit more. Good beers for sure, but all still somewhat similar in profile. Brewer Scott said the amber has a bit of smoke malt in it and the smoked porter turns out to be from Stone. It sounded like they have no plans to make a real smoked beer, which is a shame given the smoked meats they serve. (Carolina sauce- vinegar/mustard, Memphis- black pepper, Texas- ketchup) A Spezial-style smoked amber lager would be so great with the food. Certainly worth a stop if you're in Ned; certainly one of the top food choices in town.
